B.Sc. Forensic Science

This course is of Three years and eligibility is 12th Science(any group).There are 50 seats, out of which 45 are for students belonging to Maharashtra State. For this, the admission criteria will be merit and reservation basis. Remaining 5 seats are for students outside Maharashtra. Admission to these 5 seats will be purely on merit basis. The Online Registration procedure will start in the first week of June every year. The prospectus with instructions will be available on the website in the first week of June.Fees for this course is approximately Rs.2000/- per year. Boys and Girls hostel facility is also available in the campus.


For admission to B. Sc. First Year, 5 seats are reserved for students other than Maharashtra State and the aggregate marks of 12th standard will be considered. In case of a tie, marks of science subjects(PCM/PCB) as depicted in 12th marksheet will be considered. Even if there is a tie, it will be broken by considering the marks in 10th standard.

Bachelor Programs

The following program outcomes was endorsed by the committee for the Bachelor Program:

PO1: Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply the knowledge of basic and applied sciences, engineering, social sciences and arts in various forensic problems.

PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify and analyze forensic problems using standard methods based on scientific approach.

PO3: Modern tool usage: Understand, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern scientific techniques with an understanding of its merits and limitations.

PO4: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities  and norms of the forensic practices.

PO5: Effective Communication: Speak, read, write and listen clearly in person and through electronic media in English and in one Indian language, and make meaning of the world by connecting people, ideas, books, media and technology.

PO6: Forensic practices for society and criminal Justice setup: Understand and analyze the impact of forensic solutions to the society and criminal justice setup.

PO7: Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in a multidisciplinary setting.

PO8: lifelong learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and lifelong learning in the broadest context of Technological change.




Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

The committee has designed the following PSOs for the existing program of the Institute, viz., B.Sc. Forensic Science, M.Sc. Forensic Science, PG Diploma in Forensic Science and Related Law and PG Diploma in Digital and Cyber Forensics and Related Law.

B.Sc. Forensic Science

The PSOs for B.Sc. Forensic Science program is as follows:

  • PSO1: Understand the concepts of basic and applied sciences including psychology and its applications in forensics
  • PSO2: Analyze the sample in field and laboratory test of crime exhibits with the latest norms and standards
  • PSO3: Analyze the different crime scenario and make decision regarding analysis of crime exhibits
  • PSO4: Evaluate the various results and presenting into the court of law on requirements
